The North East Fife Area Committee this week approved plans to spend £85,000 from a funding pot aimed at tackling poverty.
The councillors agreed with the recommendation to continue work across them themes identified in an action plan, as well as work addressing poverty in older people and those experiencing social isolation due to mental health issues.
The members noted that poverty in rural north east Fife is often hidden, and helping those affected across such a large area can be a challenge.
The recommended areas of work for 2018/19 include several projects.
Among the schemes recommended for backing were the Fuel Poverty – Back on Track scheme, which targets private rented and owner-occupied households which are in fuel poverty.
