Fife Council is set to benefit from millions of pounds of government funds to tackle domestic violence.
Nearly 3million pounds will be invested in the ‘Caledonian System’ is a court-mandated scheme which rehabilitates offenders and tries to improve the quality of life of victms.
The system will be rolled out in six local authority areas in Scotland, with Fife being one of the beneficiaries.
Fife MSP Jenny Gilruth has welcomed the funding and said: “Domestic violence impacts every community across Scotland. Focussing on breaking the pattern of abuse is fundamental in securing the future safety of victims.
“Funding from the Scottish Government will enable Fife Council to develop their existing services and commitment themselves to tackling domestic abuse at its core.
