Placement Students – Rupert Clark

Hello! My name is Rupert and I have recently graduated from Edinburgh University with a degree in Biomedical Sciences (Neuroscience). I’ve just started out on a graduate medical degree called ScotGEM which is based here in Fife. The course is the first of its kind in Scotland and aims to get more doctors into rural parts of Scotland where they are most needed.

In terms of who I am, I would describe myself as someone who likes to be out doing things. I am interested in everything from film trivia and music to climbing, kayaking and playing football. I have so far adopted an outdoor centred approach to exploring Scotland, which has included lots of wild camping and managing to run the Lochness marathon this past summer. I also consider myself as a people person. As an inquisitive individual I am eager to explore the communities within Fife and find out about the people that make them.

I am very fortunate to be involved with the Fife Centre for Equalities who have involved me in some of the important community work they carry out as part of their outreach projects. I am very thankful for the opportunity to help and I look forward to the experiences in the weeks ahead.
