Fife Centre for Equalities (FCE) are launching a new campaign to ask people to protect our key workers from hate during the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic crisis.
Along with the rest of the country, people in Fife have been asked to work remotely when they can and stay at home to protect ourselves and others from Coronavirus (Covid-19). However, many people are being asked to continue to work or volunteer in order to keep us safe and healthy. We thank our key workers for risking their lives so we can protect ours.
Unfortunately, at FCE, we are witnessing a rise of abuse towards certain key workers because of who they are. FCE have developed a simple system where people can report hate incidents because no one should tolerate hate, online or in person, especially times like these.
Nina Munday, Manager of Fife Centre for Equalities says:
“Fife has a strong history of protecting the vulnerable people. We now need people to stand up to hate so that our key workers can continue to work, without the fear of unnecessary harm, to protect us, to provide us with the essentials or to bring us the things we need.
