Welcome to our final Let’s Keep Chatting podcast of Season 2. Episode 6 is with Sarah Keeble from S.H.I.E.L.D, who we first met on Diversity Week last year. S.H.I.E.L.D celebrated its first birthday last week and have grown so much since they were first created.
Their organisation started off by helping their local area in West Fife and expanded to other areas responding to need. They have recently become a Charity Interest Company (designed for social enterprises where they use profits and assets for public good). We recorded the podcast on Tuesday 24 March which was ‘National Day of Reflection’, this episode is a bit different, we look back a bit, discuss the changes that we have noticed and what the future may hold for us.
As highlights in the year, Sarah talks about how getting Fareshare involved with S.H.I.E.L.D when they were first staring up, and the work across various faith groups and religions. The next steps for SHIELD is to launch an OAP café in Rosyth and also create a Food Waste charity (this will include the pop ups they have for food waste at the moment).
