Fife Centre for Equalities (FCE) are pleased to announce that Mr Elric Honoré will be taking over the helm of the organisation from February 2022 when the current Chief Executive departs after over 7 years’ service.

Nina Munday, current Chief Executive, was employed to set up Fife Centre for Equalities in 2014.  After spending the last 7 years developing the organisation, nurturing the staff and working with the strategic partners, she told the Board in July 2021 that she intended to leave the organisation in March 2022.  She felt it was the right time for her departure when the organisation is working like clockwork and FCE is firmly recognised as the centre of excellence in Fife for championing equality, diversity, inclusion, and social justice.

Under the leadership of the Chair, the FCE Board then proceeded to undertake an open recruitment process to search for a new Chief Executive.  Elric Honoré successfully proving himself to be the right person for the job during the robust recruitment process.

Elric is also a long-standing employee of FCE.  He was employed as the Development Officer a year after Nina’s appointment.  During the past years, Elric developed the local recognition scheme “Equality Pathfinders”, published the “Equality in Fife” report, and created the ‘Let’s Keep Chatting’ podcasts to name a few of his achievements.

FCE’s Board is confident that Elric will build on Nina’s good work and FCE will continue to grow from strength to strength.

“As a ‘Fifer’ who hasn’t lived in Fife since teenage years, it has been an honour to have a chance to give something back to Fife especially in a field which I am very passionate about.  It has always been my personal vision to inspire and enable everyone, in whatever role they play in the society, to take action that adheres to equality, inclusion and social justice.  I am amazed and heartened that many people in Fife have joined our journey so far.”

“FCE couldn’t be in safer hands for the next part of its journey.  Elric is equally passionate about equality and the values of FCE.  I will miss everyone in the organisation, trustees, paid and unpaid staff, service users and partners.  Thank you to everyone who has walked alongside me on this journey.  I hope that my future career path will forever be intertwined with FCE and be able to support its growth.”

The New Chief Executive of Fife Centre for Equalities, Elric Honoré, said:

“It is a great honour to follow in Nina’s footsteps to continue the work of FCE in Fife. As a small organisation, FCE has developed leaps and bounds since becoming an independent charity in July 2016, thanks to the leadership shown by Nina and our board of trustees.”

“When I joined FCE in 2015, I relocated to become a new Fifer and have been learning ever since from the equality groups and communities who want to make equality and fairness a reality for people living, working or studying in Fife. It is a great journey, and I am reminded everyday of how important that work is.”

“On behalf of the team, I would like to share how grateful we all are for Nina’s commitment and hard work during the years. Nina has worked tirelessly on so many equality issues to improve the lives of Fifers. She will be sorely missed by the team. We all wish her well for the future.”

“As we recover from the pandemic, we will continue to build on our successes in engaging virtually as well as in person. My focus is to keep strengthening FCE as an asset for local communities and enabling all our partners to improve inclusive practices across Fife.”

 

Elric will start his new role from 01 February 2022 and working with Nina until her final date of employment with FCE on 31 March 2022.
